Abstract

Multifunction devices nowadays inevitably gained preference in the market among users for both economic and convenience reasons. The development of a multifunction (Automatic voltage regulator, battery charger, multi-voltage output device, Styrofoam cutter, and timer)autotransformer is anchored on the abovementioned reasons with particular consideration on power cost-saving measures, less maintenance, and increasing prices of stand-alone devices in the market. The device is designed purposely to be multifunctional to provide customized electrical power needs and functions to possible users in a single unit. Phases of the project development include lay-outing of the circuit diagram, preparation of materials, fabrication, and performance evaluation of each output device. Evaluation results showed that the device is efficient and functional. The evaluation result shows that AVR is 97.72 % efficient with an accurate timer delaying the power supply in 30 seconds for safe use. Other outputs are convincingly useful as they perform effectively with high accuracy.
