Backyard grow-out culture of giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) locally known as “ulang” was intended to promote the technology on grow-out culture of “ulang” designed for backyard ponds. The project beneficiaries were composed of students, people’s organization and individual farmers. A stocking density of 15/m2 had a computed biomass (kg/ha) ranged from 545.80kg/ha. to 3,571.43 kg/ha. with FCR ranged from 1.39-10.13 and survival rate (SR) from 27%-80%. Ponds with stocking density of 10/ m2 had a biomass ranged from 248.72-2,250kg/ha with an FCR of 1.9-7.3 and SR of 18.5% to 93%.
