The river was studied from April 2001 to January 2004 to test content for dissolved oxygen, total dissolved solids and pH. The river was sampled once every three months at five sampling sites of different depths. Results showed that the dissolved oxygen value, total dissolved solids and pH are within normal limits making Subang Daku still safe for aquatic life to thrive. However, significant differences in water quality were observed between the sampling sites. Significant differences in water quality were also observed between sampling periods. The study ends with a policy framework for monitoring Subang Daku river as various activities like channeling, quarrying, stone crushing and disposal of animal waste threaten the long-term quality of the river.
