The study was conducted on 30% of the faculty and administrative staff of the five campuses of Southern Leyte State University to determine their respective motivational needs. The findings revealed that the job motivational needs of the SLSU faculty and staff were comparable in terms of their physiological, safety, affiliation and self-actualization needs but different in self-esteem needs and their personal and professional profile. There was no significant correlation of their motivational needs with personal and professional factors. However, motivation shall be sustained among the workforces. Along with this concern, it is recommended that university key officials should enhance their human resource management skills. A Human Resource Management Training Program was conceptualized to this effect. This will provide the officials inputs in planning and decision-making to create, invent, innovate and discover effective motivation strategies whereby related problems and issues shall be addressed accordingly and lead subordinates to collaborate as a team with a commitment to high productivity.
